Matthew 10:1–4

Jun 28

1Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

2Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Him.

Interactive Prayer:

Father, forgive me for getting distracted from intentional discipleship. Forgive me for all the legitimate and illegitimate reasons why I haven’t discipled as many people as I should have. Forgive me for not prioritizing it as a church. Father, help me to see it and understand it from Your example and to reproduce in our church today. Father, give me Your vision and the ability to implement Your teachings for M28. Father, it is so easy to get so disappointed because I keep getting distracted. Protect me from doing good things instead of the great things. Forgive me for being too broad and general instead of narrow and specific. Father, please give me the vision and ability to focus this church on loving You, loving people and making disciples.

Father, nothing else matters. Please give us the ability to truly change the hearts of our people and cause them to repent of their idols and to live all of their lives in complete surrender to You. Father, we don’t have time to play games. Please give us an awareness of the urgency. Give us the ability to focus. Give us the ability to make it simple and specific. Father, make us an army of soldiers instead of a crowd of sitters. Father, change us from passive to proactive. Make us a people who love You with all our hearts, all our soul, and all our mind. Father, give a passion for loving one another inside and outside the church. Give us the leaders we need to disciple people. Make us a church that truly grows, matures and develops our people into true disciples, into true leaders.

Father, be with Andy tomorrow and give him the ability to preach in the power and demonstration of the Spirit. Father, speak through him in a powerful way. Please anoint him for the good of your people and for the glory of God. Father, I pray that the seeds of the Word will fall on good soil and produce 100 fold. I pray that many people will trust You as their Lord and Savior tomorrow. I pray that others will commit to follow You in baptism. I pray that everyone will make decisions to get connected, to serve, and to give. Father, I pray that You will bless our church spiritually, numerically and financially.
