Matthew 6:25–34 prayer
25“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27“And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28“And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32“For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Focused on prayer today, I will pick up with Matt 6:25–34 tomorrow.
Personal Application:
Interactive Prayer:
Father, I pray that You will give me the faith to not worry about life. Give me the faith to believe that You are sovereign. Forgive me for worrying too much and often times worrying about the wrong things. Father, I worry when I try to do it in my strength instead of relying upon Your strength. How foolish? I have good reason to worry if it depends upon my strength and skills. Father, forgive me for being so stupid. How stupid is it to think my ability to speak better or lead better is going to be the difference-maker? Father, the difference-maker is You in me. The difference-maker is the Holy Spirit’s work in me and through me. The difference-maker is Your anointing and favor. Father, my strengths and skills will never improve enough to accomplish what needs to be accomplished in our city, in our country and in our world. Forgive me for such foolish thinking, however, Your Spirit in me can increase enough that the impossible becomes possible. Father, give me the desire, determination and discipline to be the best man of God I can be and let everything else fall into its proper place.
Father, I don’t see myself as a successful speaker; I see myself as a preacher. I don’t deny it isn’t popular to be a preacher today, but I must be okay with that. Forgive me for caring what the culture says. Forgive me for caring about the popular opinion. This world doesn’t need successful speakers; this world needs preachers. This world needs men of God who unapologetically preach God’s Word. This world needs people who reprove, rebuke and exhort with great patience and instruction. Father, give me the confidence to be the “me” You made me to be. Give me the confidence to be the “me” You called me to be. Father, give me the ability to preach Your Word in the power and demonstration of the Spirit. Father, I can’t change a single life with my words. I don’t want my words. I don’t want my wisdom. I want the faith to speak with Your authority. Father, increase my faith. When I doubt, I do not doubt You; I am simply depending on me too much and You too little. Father, that is so backwards. Why in the world would I depend on me? I pray that You will truly fill me up with the fullness of God. I pray that You will fill me with Your Spirit. Give me the ability to walk by Your Spirit and to bear the fruits of the Spirit. Father, give me the ability to be used by God for the Word of God to bring forth forgiveness and freedom.
Father, I pray that You will speak through me tomorrow to forgive people from evil. Father, forgive and free people from the past. Give people the ability to truly flee form evil. Father, give people a decisive victory over evil tomorrow. Father, I teaching from Mark 5:1–20 where Jesus casts out the demons from the man from Gerasene. Father, please cast out demons tomorrow. I know that sounds weird and freaky in this prayer, but there are all kinds of demons and evil that must be defeated tomorrow. Father, give people a godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Give me the faith to repentance from evil in their life. I know most people don’t view their sin as evil, but the most dangerous evil is the evil that doesn’t look evil. Father, I pray for the Holy Spirit to send a strong Spirit of conviction through our people tomorrow.
What is the alternative? Should I just pray for people to have another routine Sunday with limited response to You? Father, forgive us for our low expectations. Forgive us for coming to church to receive instead of to give. Forgive us for coming to receive instead of to worship. Forgive us for coming to receive instead of to celebrate. Forgive us from coming to sit instead of serve. Father, radically change us. Give us the faith of the persecuted church in China. Father, give us the faith of desperate people. Father, give us the faith of hungry people. Father, give us the faith of the early church. I pray that we can’t stop talking about what we have seen and heard. I pray that You will raise us up to be soldiers. I pray that we will mobilize and go into our city to serve and to save. Father, I pray that we will be salt and light. I pray that we will penetrate the darkness with Your light.
Father, evil doesn’t just go away; evil must be replaced with good. Evil must be replaced with God. Father, forgive us for lowering the standard and being comfortable with sin. Forgive us for being okay with so much less of You and so much less from You. Forgive us for redefining what You are capable of, forgive us for believing You’ve changed. Father, You are the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Father, be the who One casts out demons tomorrow. Be the God who restores people to their right mind. Be the God who sends the healed man to report what things God has done for him.
Father, demoniac activity takes on different expressions at different points in time and in different places. Father, there are still people today that are tormented. It looks different for different people. Father, we are tormented through our choices. We give evil more and more access to our lives through our choices. Father, I pray right now that You free one women I’m thinking of right now. I pray that You will cast out the demons, cast out the evil that is tormenting her mind. I pray that You will restore her to a sound mind. Father, there are other people in our church, in our city, and through this country that are tormented through drugs. I pray that You will every person in our church tomorrow with a drug people freedom tomorrow. I will that they will come out of denial. There is no healing in hiding. I pray that they will confess their sins. Father, deliver people today, deliver us from evil today. Deliver people from pornography, deliver people from sexual sins. Deliver people from the idolatry of money and materialism. Father, the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Father, we can’t deliver ourselves; we must be delivered by You. Father, deliver us tomorrow, forgive us and free us tomorrow. Father, bust through our resistance.
Father, the majority of our people are tormented by evil in their life. Father, give us the ability to replace fear with faith. Give us the ability to see You tomorrow. Father, reveal Yourself as the GREAT Deliverer tomorrow. Father, Jesus wasn’t fearful; He was fearless. Give me the ability to be fearless tomorrow in my faith, in my preaching, and in the response time. Father, give our people the gift of faith instead of fear in the response time tomorrow to deal with the sin in their life. Give our people the ability to love people and create a safe place for people to confess and repent. Father, give us the ability to fearlessly believe that You will defeat evil tomorrow. Father, prepare people’s hearts right now as I pray. I pray that You give people dreams tonight that speak to them. I pray that You prompt people to pray tonight instead of just going to bed. I pray that people will wake up in the morning with a need to see You, hear from You, and to experience You.
Father, I’m thinking of another person that needs to be completely delivered from evil tomorrow. I pray that she will quit fighting You. I pray that she will quit resisting You. I pray that she will being afraid and start being fearless. Father, I pray that You will bind the evil one from her and that You will give her 100% forgiveness and freedom. I pray that You heal her marriage. Father, I’m praying for another person that needs to be delivered from his addiction tomorrow. Do it for your glory. Kill the sin and resurrect the man. Father, give us a breakthrough tomorrow.
Father, I pray for the response time tomorrow. Please give us freedom in the response time. Give people the ability to fearlessly confess their sin and to repent of their sin. I pray that people will quit resisting You and start resisting evil. I pray that people will quit making excuses and start making themselves available. I pray for movement tomorrow. Father, defeat the devil tomorrow. I know he is defeated one time for all time, but I ask that You give our people the ability to replace fear with faith. Father, restore people to their right mind tomorrow. Change people from tormented to peaceful. Bring peace tomorrow through confession and repentance. Bring healing through confession and repentance. Father, I pray that You will do such a mighty work in people tomorrow that they will go back to their spouses and there will be healing. I pray that they will go back to their children and that there will be healing. I pray that they will go back to work and they others will see the change and therefore see the Savior. I pray for each and every one of us to be a living testimony. I pray that all of will be changed in such a way that we will report what Great things the Lord has done for us. I pray that we will report all the ways that God has had mercy on us. I pray that we will overcome the evil one through the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Father, I pray that people will be amazed by You in our lives. I pray that people will be amazed by the changes You make in us. Father, I pray that people will be amazed by You tomorrow. Father, You choose to amaze people through Your work in people, please do that tomorrow for Your glory, for the good of people and for the advancement of Your kingdom.
