Father, this is such a foundational verse. It is so simple, but yet so strong. Forgive us for knowing it intellectually but rarely knowing it relationally. Father, give me the grace to obey this one verse all the time. Give me the ability to die to self and to live for You and for others. Give me the ability to look at this verse as a privilege instead of an obligation. Father, give me the ability to see and experience the power of this verse personally and corporately. Father, forgive us for being so familiar with your main truths that we neglect to truly obey them. Father, give us the focus to go back to the basics of “love one another” and “treat others as you want to be treated.”
Father, our inability to live out these truths proves how sinful we are. We can’t live out these two truths in our own power. In fact, we are miserable failures at it unless You are living in us, unless You are loving people through us. Father, give us the ability to respond to Your love with love and to love others with Your love. Father, I pray that my wife and children experience Your love in and through me. I pray that my friends and staff experience Your love in and through me. Father, often times I worry that my passion and intensity is misunderstood and people don’t know how much I love them. I pray that our church knows how much I love them. Father, I pray that my passion would inspire our people to be passionate. I pray that it wouldn’t be looked upon as a weakness, but rather as strength. Unfortunately, I don’t I’m too passionate, I just don’t think many people are as passionate as they should be about Jesus. Father, I pray that we won’t be passionate about anything else but You. I pray that we would reserve that emotion for You and You alone.
Father, give me the ability to be the best me I can be in Christ. Give me the ability to teach Your Word beyond my ability because I am teaching in the power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit. Give me the ability to teach with Your authority. Give me the ability to say what You want said the way You want it said. Give me the ability to be confident in Your calling and gifting in my life. Father, use me for Your glory. Father, show me Your glory. Father, show our people Your glory. Give me the ability have great faith in You and to trust Your with the results. Father, I pray that the results would be beyond my comprehension tomorrow. Please unleash Your Spirit tomorrow to give people the gift of repentance and faith. I pray for unlimited numbers of people tomorrow to truly believe You. I pray that MANY people will turn from easy-believism to truly believing in Jesus Christ as their Savior. Father, I pray that MANY religious people will be born again tomorrow. I pray that MANY church attendees will be born again tomorrow. I pray that MANY skeptics will be born again tomorrow. Father, there is one specific person that is coming to tomorrow that is a prodigal to their family, I pray that this person will run home to You tomorrow, that this person will run home to the physical home, and that the mother, father, and brothers, and sisters will run to the prodigal. I pray for any person in our church tomorrow who does not have a born again relationship with Jesus to truly be saved tomorrow. I pray for others who are faking it, convict them and cause them to repent and live the real deal. Father, give people godly sorrow that leads to repentance without regret for easy believism. Father, do not let people remain uncommitted. Do not let people compromise what it means to believe. Father, cause the Holy Spirit to blow through our church in a mighty and powerful way. Give us the ability to sense Your presence and to respond accordingly. Father, give us the favor and the blessing of Your presence. Father, show us your glory. Pass by in front of us and proclaim your name, compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth. Father, I pray that our people will bow low toward the earth and worship.
Father, I pray that communion will be extremely powerful tomorrow. Father, give us the ability to truly remember and to grasp the magnitude of Your body be broken for us and for Your blood being poured out for the forgiveness of sins. I pray for genuine brokenness and repentance tomorrow. I pray for people to experience forgiveness and freedom. I pray for people to experience You joy in them. I pray that the tasting forgiveness video to overwhelm us with Your presence and power. I pray that our response will be a response of the heart. I pray that our response will be a response of love and obedience. I pray that our response will be a response of presenting ourselves as a living and holy sacrifice. Father, bring revival tomorrow. Give me the ability to sense Your Spirit and to respond decisively and correctly. Give me the ability teach within my time allotment. Father, help me to finish on time so I can give appropriate time to the response time. Father, awaken us tomorrow. Bring us the momentum of the Holy Spirit.
Father, I pray that You prepare people’s hearts right now as they sleep or prepare to sleep. I pray that people will go to bed tonight thinking about You and praying for our church tomorrow. I pray that the people that are out tonight doing stupid stuff that You would protect them from themselves and bring them to their senses. Father, protect our people from the temptations of drinking and drugging. Father, protect our people from the temptations of sin. Father, I pray that Your Holy Spirit will convict people right now and cause them to obey You. Father, I pray for all the teenagers that are celebrating graduation, please give them the wisdom to celebrate in a godly way. Father, I pray that our people will turn from the ways of the world and focus 110% on loving You, loving people, and making disciples.
Father, grow our prayer team. I pray that the Holy Spirit will draw people to our prayer team. I pray that we will defeat darkness with prayer first. Father, bind the enemy from our services tomorrow. Give our people freedom from distractions and from the lies of the devil. Give us an environment that is filled with the Holy Spirit. I pray that You will rise up an amazing team of people to pray for me, to pray for our team, and to pray for our services. I pray that we will see things that we can’t see except for the power of prayer. Father, give us the ability to see and experience You as the church in China experiences You. Father, increase our faith. Father, strengthen my faith.
Father, I confess that I need to see You. I confess that I need to experience You. I beg and plead with You to give us rain from heaven. Father, it is hard not to grow weary in doing good. Father, I know there are unlimited number of godly reasons to show us Your glory tomorrow, but I am personally asking You to increase my faith. Father, this doesn’t sound pastoral, but I’m dying to see You do things that are exceedingly abundantly beyond all that I can ask or think. Father, I need to see You do things that are undeniable according to man’s ability. Father, I don’t know if this prayer is selfish or not, but it is the honest expression of my heart. I need You and I need to see You. Father, please hide me in Your Spirit tomorrow and give me the ability to see You and for others to see You. Father, I don’t want an explainable day; I want to see an unexplainable day. Give us a day where we don’t want to leave Your presence. Give us more than a day; give us an experience we will never recover from. Father, I don’t fully understand what You did in my heart 17 or 18 years ago, but I pray that You will do it in others. Come Holy Spirit Come! Father, I am so completely incapable of doing anything I’m praying. I pray that all the fullness of God will dwell within me. Father, give me the ability to be more sensitive to Your Spirit than ever before. Give us the ability to BELIEVE whatever Your Spirit says tomorrow.
Father, in Your kindness and goodness would you bring as many people as possible to experience You tomorrow. Father, please grow our church spiritually, numerically, and financially. Father, give us the ability to reach Memphis and beyond. Give our people a commitment to invest and invite. I pray for our people to believe that truly offers compassion without compromise. Give us the ability to reach the unchurched and the churched.
