Morning Colours

Jan 17

If you are a Highpointer, you know it is well documented that I am tone-deaf and have zero ability to sing whatsoever. Even though I can’t sing, I love music and believe that it plays a vital role in both private worship and public worship. In fact, I believe that private worship makes public worship more authentic, meaningful and powerful. That is one of the many reasons why I ask Josh Maze and members of the Highpoint worship team to write songs designed to enhance one’s priority time.

The title of the record is Morning Colours because it is designed to capture the essence of rising early each morning to spend time in the presence of God. The heartbeat behind this project is to help you “be still and know that He is God (Ps 46:10).“One of the lines says,

In the stillness of the morning

God your love it heals

And now I’m longing to abide in You

There is nothing better

God, your face is all I need.”

The music of Morning Colours is designed to enhance your priority time. There is a vocal and instrumental version of the record depending upon your personality and study habits. I highly recommend that you occasionally add a praise time to your prayer time by putting on headphones and singing to the Lord. If you can sing the headphones aren’t necessary. Music is truly the language of the soul and it will help you connect with God differently than the Word and prayer.

The songs are a combination of originals as well as rewrites of classic hymns. I am confident you will enjoy experiencing the Word of God through music. Click here and download a free copy of Morning Colours right now.

My two favorites songs on the project are Grace and Better Story. I’d be interested to know which songs become your favorites. If you’ve not heard Josh and the Highpoint band before, you can follow them at  highpointworship.com. You can also order the Magnify CD and DVD project highpointmemphis.com.

My favorite songs are Sunrise all the way to Daybreak! I listen to them on my way to work so I can fill my cup to the brim with worship that’s all about Him! When I first heard Daybreak and heard Adrian Roger’s voice it brought a huge smile to my face! Years ago we attended a local church that preached feel good Christianity. We were there for almost 10 years. Near the end of our time there I had a 45 minute commute to work and started listening to Adrian Rogers on the radio. I was learning things about the word of God that I had never heard in those 10 years! I did not grow up going to any church so I was an infant in my walk with the Lord at that time. I had no idea how to read the Bible let alone study the Bible! I would call my husband from the car and said “…did you know this about Paul?” I told my husband we had to find a different church! Enter Highpoint, praise God! Since we have started coming to Highpoint almost 7 years ago two of our children have accepted Christ. I continue to learn how to read and study God’s word, but thank God someone is teaching us/me how to do that! Josh and the Highpoint team have done an OUTSTANDING job, not just on Morning Colours, but every week during worship! THANK YOU!!!!

I am absolutely loving “Christ Forever”! I can’t get it out of my head. I was singing it in Costco yesterday as I was pushing my cart along and didn’t even realize I was singing it out loud until an old lady smiled at me. What a blessing this song is to me. Josh Maze and the Highpoint worship team did and incredible job of creating music that speaks to our hearts and helps us draw near to God early in the morning. Thanks for giving us some awesome tunes to begin our priority time each morning; it really helps put me in a mindset for worship as I prepare to meet with my Father each morning.
