Interactive Prayer:

Father, today is the day that You have made and I will rejoice in it. You alone are good. Father, I’m grateful for the opportunity to know You, love You and serve You. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve You as one of Your sons, as one of Your servant-leaders and as one of Your pastors. Father, I pray that You would help me to overcome my human disappointment and to persevere in prayer. Father, I know that only You know what is best, only You want what is best, only You give what is best. Father, I pray that You would help me to respond with perseverance and faith.

Father, help me to discipline myself for the purpose of godliness. Help me discipline my body, my mind and my leadership to glorify You. I desperately desire to see You move in and through our church in a way that is only explained as a movement of God, a work of the Holy Spirit. Father, cause the seeds of the Word of God to fall on good soil. Father, help us help people take specific steps in their faith. Father, cause our church to grow and our faith to grow so that we can take the light into the darkness of Memphis. Give us the ability to truly reverse the destruction of sin in this city.Give us Your vision for changing this city. Give us Your vision for reversing the patterns of generational sins. Give us the wisdom and resources to love people to salvation and sanctification, to repair families, to educate people and give them a Christian worldview.

Father, give us the wisdom, the personnel and resources to be more than a church with big attendance numbers. Father, give us the ability to truly “Go and make disciples.” Give us the ability to be the church that does both “Go” and “make disciples” well. Give us wisdom as we plan and prepare for M:28 in the Fall. Father, give Andy, Jason, Chris Harris and me the wisdom to create disciple classes for new believers and growing believers. Give us additional leaders to help run the organization. Thank you for Chris Harris. I can see he is already helping to take some of the load off of Jason. Give us people who can specialize in processes and management so that we can specialize in vision and values.

A native of Memphis, Chris Conlee has responded to God’s call to impact his hometown. In the midst of his collegiate golf career, Chris had a crisis of belief that led him to abandon his dream of golf and to relentlessly pursue the heart of God. After completing his bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis and his Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, Chris followed God’s direction to plant a church that would be a perfect place for imperfect people.
